Our ideas towards our folio images

Our ideas that reflect on our images

I have chosen to capture images from the bugs perspective on the world. How do bugs look and view at this large planet?

My ideas are to get down low and look up at both large and not so large organic items, such as trees, mushrooms and flowers, to indicate how big these things are compared to a tiny insect.

Some of my ideas include;

  • Getting a view of the mushroom from underneath looking up, indicating that although this is something that we eat, this could be like a huge tree for an ant, and the ant has to go around it and not through it.
  • A spider-web, showing the life of a fly having to avoid this case scenario and not flying into it as this would mean dinner for the spider.
  • Capturing a dandelion much in the same way as the mushroom, it may be pretty to us but could be a home to something.
  • Another thought is to take a picture of something small, to reverse and change up my previous ideas, such as rain drops and enlarge them to indicate that although raindrops are small to us, they become huge puddles for smaller bugs and insects.
  • An idea given to me by a fellow class mate, Lynne, was to capture start trails. The thoughts behind this image is to show just how small us humans are and how large our planet and solar system is.
  • Some final ideas that I have currently thought of include reflections in water/ puddles, shadows, silhouettes possibly of plants and weeds, and landscapes that looks out over a long distance to convey the thought that we could travel that distance over a period of a few hours where as for a bug or insect in could possibly take days or even weeks.

I am getting more and more ideas about this project, some of which may not be relevant, but my thoughts are to capture anything and everything that I see interesting.
